Fellas,
MFL sucks... A bug has emerged during these UFAAs that was noticed in Gangland, but also effected WDF, so I've joined owner of both leagues in this email.
Here is what is going on - its difficult to explain, but I will try to do it as briefly as possible.
When you go to the auction bid page, the following table is on the bottom left of the page:
Initial Funds
Funds Spent:
Funds Allocated On High Bids:
Funds Available:
The initial funds should be constant and never change throughout the UFAA. However, MFL has connected the $BB on the standings page with the "Initial Funds" amount listed in the above table. Therefore, when a auction is won not only does the $BB amount on the standings page change, so does the Initial Funds.
As a commissioner setting up the auction I chose the option to have the winning auction amounts charged to the teams $BB (so it would update in the standings tab and I wouldn't have to do it manually after the auction ended). Unfortunately, as I said previously, it is also charging the Initial Funds in the above table. And when it does, it will obviously compute an inaccurate number of "Funds Available"
For example, if you had $20 coming into the UFAA and won a player for $10, you should have $10 remaining in the standings table and the auction bid table to read as follows:
$20 Initial Funds
$10 Funds Spent
$10 Funds Available
However, with the way MFL is set up, the Initial Funds is being modified to match the $BB balance on the standings page and ends up looking like this:
$10 Initial Funds
$10 Funds Spent
$0 Funds Available
Obviously something had to be done. The only fix I could come up with is to credit teams with the $BB they've already spent on winning auctions so their $BB balance on the standings page would increase to the balance they started with. As expected the Initial Funds in the above table also changed. The Funds Spent were still accurately recorded and thus the available balance became accurate. Then I went in and choose the option to not charge winning auctions to the teams $BB balance. This solution works. However, for the remaining UFAA, if you win any auctions, the $BB balance in the standings tab will NOT BE ACCURATE!
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW YOUR AVAILABLE FUNDS GO TO THE AUCTION BID PAGE AND SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTOM LEFT - THIS IS THE ONLY ACCURATE NUMBER.
After the UFFAs have ended, I will then have to tally how much each team spent and manually reduce their $BB by that amount to update the standings page.
I'd like to apologize on behalf of MFL for the issue and will be contacting MFL to express my displeasure...
Again please do not use the standings page to determine your currently available funds. Penalties for overbidding will accessed moving forward and failure to read this notice will not be an excuse.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Thanks!
