Starting next year we should start the rookie draft the day after the NFL draft concludes. I’d even be up for starting the draft 2 weeks BEFORE the NFL draft. Mix it up a little.

I agree. That would make things interesting having a draft before the NFL draft.

I would be interested in doing our rookie draft before the NFL Draft.

We use to have the draft before and everybody hated it because the team a player goes to makes a big difference on his value

Yeah of course, but that's the fun of it.

While I think this would make the NFL Draft more interesting I don't think I'm in favor of it. I would be willing to move the draft up to start the Monday after the NFL Draft concludes.

I’m all for moving up the rookie draft, but not before the NFL draft concludes

I like the idea of a fantasy draft taking place before the NFL draft because it would shake things up, but I can't say I'd be in favor of it in a money league.
What *would* be cool is a side game where there's a six-round rookie draft prior to the NFL draft, and each "team" of six rookies then has their FF points added up each week. We could do it head-to-head, but I'm thinking guillotine style, where the team with the lowest score that week is eliminated. The winner after 14 weeks would get a side-game prize that is tbc.
I actually don't think this would have a huge effect on anyone getting much in the way of advance knowledge of what others might do in the real draft either, because in this setup you'd see a big run on cornerbacks, safeties and a few LBs because you're looking for a player that will put up consistent FF points as a rookie. So, in the 2019 draft? Players like DeAndre Baker Byron Murphy would likely get drafted well before most QBs, RBs and WRs, any TE, or any DE other than Bosa.

Also, I like fantasy rookie drafts starting a couple weeks after the NFL draft takes place. It gives everyone a chance to let everything sink in and see what the effects of the draft are on the current FF roster, and also gives fantasy owners a chance to see what the rookie's prospects look like after going to visit the new city and meeting with the coaches. You get some time to plan ahead.
Plus, I don't know about the rest of you, but those couple of weeks of mulling over what you're gonna do with your picks, especially in relation to what others might do, and who you'd trade up for, and so on? I love that part of it and those are actually two of my favorite weeks of the entire FF year.

We prefer keeping the WDF rookie draft after the NFL draft.
