a) Every team is eligible to participate.
b) Teams will pick a team to win for the current week.
c) Teams are out of the Survivor Pool when they pick a loser 2 times.
d) You cannot pick the same team twice.
e) Teams keep picking until there is one winner.
In the case where there is no clear winner after 16 weeks, the tie breaker will be as follows:
1. Team with the least amount of losses (i.e., 0 to 1)
2. Team that lasted the longest without incurring their first loss
3. Team with the lowest VP during the regular season
4. Team with the lowest amount of total points earned during the season.
Y.2 NFL Confidence Pool
Every team is eligible to participate. Teams pick and rank the NFL team in order of confidence that they think will win that week.
If multiple teams tie, the tier breaker will be as follows:
1. The team highest single week score in the pool.
2. The team with the lowest VPs during the regular season
3. Team with the lowest amount of total points earned during the season.
Y.3 Side Game Rewards
The Top 4 teams in each the Survivor Pool ("SP") and Confidence Pool ("CP") at the end of week 16 will win a reward. The rewards are not allocated, but rather chosen by the winners in a style similar to a KDS draft. The first ranked team will have the first choice to pick a reward; the second ranked team will have second choice and so on until the 4th ranked team in each pool has received a reward. The CP will take priority over the SP, therefore the winner of the CP will be ranked 1st and have first choice, winner of the SP will have the 2nd pick and alternating until all teams have a reward. The rankings will be posted on the forums at the end of the year and selection will take place around March 1.
The rewards, in no particular order, are:
1. The Golden Boy Skaaland – This reward makes your Practice Squad invulnerable to any poaching whatsoever for one season.
2. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan – This reward gives a team the ability to place one rookie that was drafted in rounds 1 – 5, on the Practice Squad (“PS”) within 24 hours of the conclusion of the rookie draft just like 6th and 7th round players. This means that the rookie’s contract years will not count against the 125 contract cap when assigning all the contracts.
3. The Paul Bearer – This reward gives a team the ability to erase 3 contract years from any player or any combination of players, penalty free. This reward must be used prior to the rookie draft.
4. Captain Lou Albano – This reward gives a team two extra draft picks at the conclusion of the rookie draft. 8.01 & 8.02.
5. The Mouth of the South – This reward gives a team the ability to cut any player on their roster penalty free, no matter how many years are on his contract, even if he is rostered by an NFL team. This reward must be used by the start of the final game of week 16.
6. Mr. Fugi – This reward gives a team the ability to designate one rookie the freedom to ignore the “Promotion Rule” (i.e., once a rookie is promoted they can never be demoted) and float for the entire season between the active roster and the practice squad as many times as the owner wishes. Keep in mind that all other rules such as practice squad limits and cap space still apply. Additionally, trading of this player will rescind the Floater tag and will be automatically placed on the acquiring teams active roster. Lastly, at the end of the NFL season week 17, where that player rests (active or PS) is where he will remain - the Floater tag will be revoked and the promotion rule in effect.
7. Miss Elizabeth - This prize gives a team the ability to extend any 1 player by 1 year. This ability cannot be used on any expiring contract. Must be used by the March 20 tag deadline.
8. Freddie Blassie – This reward will give a team the ability to designate one rookie draft pick drafted in rounds 3-8 as the Ghost. As the Ghost this player does not need to be given a contract until the following league season. Therefore, he will be on your active roster, but will not count against your 125 year cap. Contract assignment for this player will occur prior to February 20th the following off-season.
*Not all rewards must be awarded in a given season. Default Winners will not be eligible to win a reward. Default Winners are defined as owners that end up placing in the top 4primarily due to the non-participation of others. Winners will be awarded to those teams that show a legitimate effort to participate and win an award in the contest. This will be determined at the discretion of the Commissioner.
**Prizes must be used following the season in which they are earned and cannot be carried over to any subsequent year. Rewards may also change from season to season to improve or diminish the quality of the reward or just to change things up. If you guys have any creative ideas for a reward please share it on the forums. Keep in mind, we are looking for creative rewards that act as a bonus, but are certainly not game changers that diminish anyone’s chances of being competitive in this league.
