N.1 Options for Players with Expired Contracts
There are 5 available tags each off-season each team can use to retain or attempt to retain players.
1. Franchise Tag
2. 1st Round Tag
3. 2nd Round Tag
4. 3rd Round Tag
5. Extension Tag
N.2 Franchise Tag (FT)
a) The Franchise tag can only be used on one player per team/season.
b) A player can only be Franchise Tagged one time per team.
c) The cost to franchise tag a player is 120 PD's.
d) If you franchise a player, you will automatically get to retain his services and give him any length (1-6 yr) contract you wish. There is no bidding on Franchise tagged players.
N.3 1st Round Tag
a) The 1st Round Tag can be used on one player per team/season.
b) The cost of a 1st Round tag is 70 PD's.
c) If bidding excesses 70 PD's, the tagging owner will have the opportunity to match the highest bid, by simply posting "Match" in the appropriate forum.
d) If you do not match the highest bid on your 1st Round tagged player, the compensation is a 1st round rookie draft pick for the current year. If a team does not have a 1st round pick this year, a 1st round pick for next years draft is acceptable.
e) If a team has multiple same round picks (ie, 1.01, 1.04, and 1.10), the team giving up the compensation can choose which draft pick to use as compensation.
f) The compensation must be stated with each and every bid for the bid to be legal. Failure to submit the compensation information makes the bids null and void.
g.) If No bid exceeds 70 PD's or if the tagging team win the player, the tagging team gets to retain his services and give him any length (1-6 yr) contract they wish.
N.4 2nd Round Tag
a) The 2nd Round Tag can be used on 1 player per team/season.
b) The cost of a 2nd Round Tag on a player is 35 PD's
c) If bidding excesses 35 PD's, the tagging owner will have the opportunity to match the highest bid, by simply posting "Match" in the appropriate forum.
d) If you do not match the highest bid on your 2nd Round tagged player, the compensation is a 2nd round rookie draft pick for the current year. If a team does not have a 2nd round pick this year, a 2nd round pick for next years draft is acceptable.
e) If a team has multiple same round picks (ie, 2.01, 2.04 , and 2.10) the team giving up the compensation can choose which draft pick to use as compensation.
f) The compensation must be stated with each and every bid for the bid to be legal. Failure to submit the compensation information makes the bids null and void.

d) If you do not match the highest bid on your 2nd Round tagged player, the compensation is a 3rd round rookie draft pick for the current year. If a team does not have a 3rd round pick this year, a 3rd round pick for next years draft is acceptable.

N.6 Extension Tag
a) The Extension Tag can be used on 1 player per team/season.
b) The cost to extend a contract is 20 PD's.
c) There is no bidding on this tag.
d) This tag does not need to be used on an expiring contract.
e) Once a player has been extended, his contract status will be updated with an 'E' to represent 'extension.'
f) A player may only receive the Extension tag once per contract. Therefore, the ONLY way to remove the E Tag is if the player entered the RFAA and change teams, entered the UFAA (does not matter which team wins the player) or was released. *Trading a player with an E Tag doesn't remove the E Tag for the new owner.
