I'm curious who would be up for a new league next year. I know many of us are in several leagues, but personally I'm looking to replace some of my crappy leagues with ones I truly enjoy such as this. However, I don't want to do just another one of these leagues, I'd like to incorporate some outside of the box rules, events, etc. Please let me know what your interest level is by replying to this thread. I'd also love to hear any ideas you may have for a new league. Thanks!

I'll go to the Looney bin with you bro. Bud Danner from monster also wants in if you have room for him.

Nice! Ya, I think I invited him into this league last year, but he couldn't make it happen at the time. He's a solid owner and I'll put him at the top of the list if there is an opening which I'm sure there will be.

I'm also cutting down on the crap.
I was thinking of starting a Best Ball elimination league. 17 teams. Best ball draft. Team with the least amount of total points gets eliminated each week. Last team standing after week 16 wins. No trading. No transactions (or maybe limit transactions to like 5 all year or something.

A few ideas I like to throw out as options for a new league.
1 The window rule: 24 hours after a trade is completed other owners can offer the trading teams offers for those players/picks to see if a better offer comes for the players they would have traded. "Example of this I traded Jason my 2019 1st rounder for Robert Woods, right after that Andre the Giant tells me man I would have given you Doug Baldwin for him. Wish I'd known that..
2 The captain rule: each teams selects 1 offensive and 1 defensive captain the selected captain gets an additional 25% (or what ever determined percentage) of their score added to their point total for the week.
3 The mulligan rule: simple each team gets to select 1 higher scoring bench player to replace a lower scoring starter. This could be weekly or 1,2,3 times per year etc...
4 The Lottery Draft: A page out of the NBA play book after the regular season a lottery is done to determine the rookie draft order, last place gets most tickets 1st place just 1 ticket. Teams are pulled out of the pool once their pick is determined. Lottery could be done a month after NFL Superbowl so there is activity during the normal dead time.
Just a few ideas I've heard of that could be cool to implement to a new league.

I hate all those rules, but I will say that I doubt ATG would have done that deal. First of all, he could have offered Baldwin to any other team for their 2019 1st and likely gotten a deal from at least 1 of them. Shoot, I would have accepted that deal even after I traded to you. Still will. I'm gonna offer him your 2019 1st for Baldwin over the off-season. I give him a 0.0001% chance of accepting. We'll see what happens.

Just a few ideas I've heard of that could be cool to implement to a new league. I'm going to have to pass on 1, 2 & 3. A lottery for draft position could be interesting. Here is an example of an idea I'm considering taken from a different league that I am currently in, it's called "The Raid". The Raid is an event just like a rookie draft that takes place prior to the rookie draft. Before The Raid occurs every team protects 1 player from each position and 1 Flex player from any position so these players cannot be raided. All other players that are not protected will be eligible for The Raid. Each team must raid 5 players and each team must have 5 players raided from their teams. The order for the raid is the same as the rookie draft. So for instance if you have K Hunt, A Kamara, and L Fournette as your RBs, one of them for sure will be protected and you could protect another by using your flex, but one will definitely be eligible to be raided and most likely you will lose that player. As disheartening as this may seem it's actually pretty fun because you have to remember your going to get your chance to raid as well. So while you might lose K Hunt in the raid you may also gain D Cook or D Baldwin or Ty Hilton, etc. Again each team can only lose 5 players so once that team has been raided of 5 players no more players can be raided from that team. Now, if we implemented something similar we don't necessarily have to raid 5 players, we could raid 3. We can also make it so that each team can protect two players at every position, whatever rules we'd want to implement, but from my experience with it, I enjoyed it. I also like the idea of taking a % of the entry fees and applying them to a progressive pot that would payout when team accomplish certain feats during the season. I'd also like to think of a good way to implement devy players to the league, but I fear taking away from the rookie draft too much.

I'm down for some raidin'.
I also think it would be cool for the division winners to have a snake draft for the new divisions the following year. Sucks when divisions are unbalanced. So what we can do is at the end of each season the division winners have a snake draft to determine the divisions for the upcoming year. The worse teams likely will be drafted first, and the best teams last. This helps keep the divisions as balanced as possible.

What about adding a caveat where once you have a player raided from your team, you can then protect 1 additional player? So once Hunt is raided from your team, you can protect Myles Jack (or whoever). That way you aren't losing your next 5 best players.
